Ha! Updating? Ridiculous!

Things of note?

Bought my first new book bag in 5 years. Consequently, I have misplaced my 3rd TI-83+. Heartbreaking.

I like flashlight fights.

Set more jets back to NY, Portland and Seattle. I like jets. Free soda.

Ben and co. had a great gallery showing. Minneapolis trips are officially about gluttony.

I was trapped in an elevator.

Wearing Old Spice is an odd and uncomfortable experience. As Jim Gaffigan puts it, "It's as though someone is standing behind you, and you can smell them, and are thinking; "Is that OLD SPICE?". Women's deodorant is by all means strong enough for me. And it smells delightful.

My left shin now looks so scarred by life that I may in fact name it. Or make sure if I ever make a me action figure, that there are two editions. One with official "Battle-Damage". That one also comes with a messenger bag accessory.

I'd giggity-go with the Go!Team to see the Architecture in Helsinki any day of the week. Even on a school night.

I wasn't ready to graduate high school. I'm no more ready to graduate college. But these are the things one must do.

Do you hate the color scheme of this Xanga as much as I do?

I'm sure you're glad that I don't write here very often then.

To summarize break thus far:
New Years was fun.

Petbusters was fun.

New MacBook is fun.

Working at a job that allows me to write this stupid post is fun.

Life is fun.

NO snow in Iowa is not fun.

The workers who are hammering things into the walls outside my room at 6:30am are not fun.

Not shaving in almost two weeks has not been fun.

Self-administered haircuts are NOT fun, though necessary.

Fun is fun.

I'm not in Portland anymore.

American politics are a many funny and stupid thing, but I'm pleased that the midterms went relatively well.

Iowa City for all it's many faults, is a nice place to call home.

I've got more responsibilities than I want, but I wouldn't do away with any of them for a second.

Honors Seminar in Comparitive Politics is now officially the greatest class ever.

Breaks are fun. Yet there will never be enough time to do the things I have assigned myself to do.

I want matching furniture. Or at least a couch that doesn't look like my parents concieved me upon it.

Writing in fragment sentences is a great way to waste time at work.

This isn't the last time I'll post here, but it will definately be a long time before I check on it again.

I am ever so full of hubris.

So I'm in Portland now. It's been boring, but fun. It's good to see the lady I love, for a change.

I can't help but feel jealous for everyone who has been able to spend their college experience with their significant other. Often times, I can't help but feel it's one of many things that's keeping me from fully enjoying college. The dual edged sword bit is that I know Lindsay loves her college experience more than anything I could ever be, and I'd rather her be happy. Le Sigh. Oh to have had money and gotten better grades in high school. Perhaps my life would be simpler. Or perhaps not.

Oh, and I'll probobly slow down (or cease all together) my posts here (once again) now that Shambot! is now active. www.shambot.com Imagine it has a spiritual successor to the CP of sorts. I miss the CP. I miss the simpler days. I know that no one else does. Sometimes I think something's really wrong with me in that respect.

So, I'm in Minniapolis. Joel's been an absolute gentleman, and is letting me sleep on his couch!

The duplex kids have a kitten now, named Jenkorr (sp?). Stupid name, cute kitty.

I'm visiting Minniap for Capoeira buisness, which is fun, and weird, and fun.

I'm done at the janitor job. YAY!

Carrie's moving in this weekend/week. YAY!

Sam's birthday and a cool concert is this week. YAY!

I get to see Lindsay wednesday night! OMGz yay!

Brick is an amazing movie. In case any of you who I haven't told yet didn't know from me telling you.

This week, I almost killed myself from lack of sleep. Things are better now, but near the end of tuesday (or was it wednesday?) I stopped being able to form coherrent sentences and was feeling very effed up about stuff, and things.

Today I played capoeira with people by the lake. It was pretty scary as they were all very aggressive and fast. I didn't get knocked out, but I didn't really play that well considering. oh wells.

We had a barbq where we hung out with people speaking almost entirely portugese, and found out that brazillians don't use marinades. Salt. Lots of rock salt. That's how they like their meat seasoned. I must admit that I've learned more about Brazillian culture in the last few months than I ever thought I'd be interested in. My trips to NY and Mpls have been fun, and educational!

Joel and I went for caffinated sodies, then we watched futurama, and now we're playing Guitar Hero. I've very sleepy, but I feel it's important that I not go to unconciousland. Important anti-sleep defense reasons.

I have to drive us home from Mpls tommorry. UHOHS! MINIVANADVENTURES.

Well the last few weeks have been random, yet unsubtly same-y.

As many of you have gathered from discussion with me, I loath my current occupation. Luckily it comes to a startling conclusion in 5 days. Unfortunately nearly all of these days will be 12 hours long in length beginning at 5am. The overtime dollars are nice mind you, but it has quickly become apparent that I am little more than a pimp of my own body for dollars. And I have developed an incessant need to clean things arround the apartment, which often comes to me making piles of things, and then hiding said piles as opposed to actually sorting anything.

Concerts are all the rage with a trip to Omaha to see Devotchka completed on Saturday night, another tommorow evening for the Go!Team (also in Omaha, same venue actually, the Sokol Underground where Lindsay and I saw Super Sufjan Stevens and his Illinoisemakers) and finally a birthday celebration fit for a Sam Caster with Of Montreal at the Englert in IC. Sam, Brandon and others have turned me onto even more music, including Psapp, Architecture in Helsinki and the Ditty Bops. I eagerly await my trip to Portland if not to see my darling Lindsay, but to steal Sufjan's new album (as she bought it legit, and it's only halfway stealing).

I'm really excited for Portland. My last visit was filled with many, many trips to the 7-11 for slurpees of all flavors and such, and fun conversations with Lindsay's family (and some Katamari Damacy playing) and seeing the beautiful Oregon landscape. I hope I get to see other such sights and sites this trip arround, but we'll see what happens. Worse comes to worse, I'm just terribly excited to see Lindsay. I don't think I've missed her quite this much since she was at Wellesley (and that was a great deal of missing).

Summer's quickly drawing to a close. Regrets? Not seeing several people Ben/Pat/Deedee as much as I could have before they we all get busy with education/leave the country, but they'll all return or be visited soon. Oh, that and not winning as much at Pub Quiz as one might like. I crave victory!

I have to be up for work in 3.5 hours.

Fun in the furry house

I've been staying in Ben's house for two days now. It's been a joy.

I woke up this morning with two kittens on my chest, while adorable, has left a pair of clothing utterly interwoven with hairs. Adorable, but icky.

The other two kittys keep to themselves, which while not bad per se, has left for a pretty laid back house sitting experience. Whooo.

Saturday morning and afternoon television is abysmal.

Even with cable.

I've put in my two weeks at the dorms. Went pretty smoothly. Woo. Only two more weeks! Huzzah and happy day!

My summer reading list is moving along well enough. I wish there was more time and that I had more drive to read things straight rather than jump from chapter to chapter in different books.

The first time I ordered Home Movies Season 2 from amazon, it never showed up.

Turned out they had simply ran out and refunded my money without sending me an e-mail.

The second time I ordered Home Movies Season 2 from amazon, it arrived.

Upon opening the box, I discovered "Flickers" starring Bob Hoskins.

Wait.

I didn't order "Flickers". I ordered Home Movies Season 2.

Oh, amazon. You're gonna get a nasty e-mail for this one.

Lindsay was awesome enough to put our "Where's Waldo" series on Google Video, but upon futher searches throughout the meganet, I found other "Waldo" movies. Some were ok. Some were pretty good. Some...well....I'd like for anyone who reads this to go and give them a "one star" rating. It's awful ... and to be honest, they should be ashamed. Not in a big huge deal of a way just in a, "You really should have thought about whether or not anyone would really have liked this. And you shouldn't have given yourself a 5 star as a pat on the back neither."
